Coach Hutch has played volleyball for more years than he cares or can remember. He started playing in 1969 on his high school varsity team. Through the years, he has played in open and BB divisions. He has stopped playing competitive volleyball but, he continues to coach school and club volleyball. Hutch gives private lessons on an individual and team basis. Those to whom he has given private lessons range from 6th grade girls through male college club teams. Currently Hutch is the volunteer Volleyball Coordinator for Dallas Christian Schools in Mesquite, Texas. He also coaches club volleyball with the Victory Volleyball Club. He attended Abilene Christian University where he earned a B.B.A. and an M.B.A. Later, Hutch obtained a J.D. from Texas Tech School of Law. He is a member of the following organizations: United States Volleyball Association; American Volleyball Coaches Association, the National Federation of High School Volleyball Association, Texas High School Coaches Association and the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
In January, 2009, Hutch attended the CAP III and High Performance Coaches’ Clinic at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Hutch holds the following certifications: IMPACT, USA Volleyball Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) I, CAP II and the highest accreditation, CAP III. This past year he was a USA Volleyball evaluator for numerous High Performance Tryouts throughout the United States.
He has been married for 33 years and has three wonderful daughters (two of whom are club volleyball coaches) and one fantastic son-in-law.
