Volleyball Outreach
As part of our effort to “Grow the Game” of volleyball, Hutch Volleyball has worked with the Vision 21 Group (now known as V21 Sports) to grow the game in Kenya and the surrounding countries of Africa. For several years, Hutch Volleyball personnel have traveled to Nairobi, Kenya to conduct players’ camps that were attended by first-time volleyball players as well as some of the best club volleyball players in Kenya. Chalo Mbuti of Vision 21 Group, Catherin Kirongo (former member of the Kenyan Women’s National Volleyball Team) and Edinah Rotich (former coach and player of the Kenyan Women’s National Volleyball Team) were instrumental in the success of the Camps and Coaches Clinics. The Coaches Clinics were attended by some of the top coaches in Kenya as well as from Cameroon.
With the support and encouragement of V21 and Sport Court®, Hutch Volleyball was honored to donate the first sport court to be used Kenya, if not the first sport court in all of Africa. In addition to the sport court, Hutch Volleyball has conducted shoe drives to collect volleyball shoes for the volleyball players of Kenya.
